¡¡¡¡Functional Membrane Laboratory has a usable area of more than 400 square meters, and is equipped with such facilities as study rooms for graduates, teacher¡¯s office, multi-media report hall, computer rooms, synthesis rooms, analysis rooms, membrane characterization rooms, membrane separation rooms, and unit operation rooms.
¡¡¡¡The laboratory has a complete set of equipments for membrane characterization, such as cup nanofiltration, cup ultrafiltration, and instruments for determining streaming potential, membrane potential, membrane electrical resistance, diffusional coefficient, transport number, permselectivity, ion flux and retention. Besides, several pilot-scale setups are available for experiments of water-splitting, dialysis, electrodialysis, microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, and reverse osmosis. With the aids of these facilities, the laboratory can undertake not only fundamental studies on membrane science and technology but also preliminary work for industry-scale applications, or even project design and contact fulfillment.
¡¡¡¡The laboratory has laid a good substantial and theoretical foundation for the research on bipolar membrane¡¯s function and application, homogenous membrane preparation and application, wastewater treatment by using membrane techniques, composite or hybrid membrane preparation and characterization, and thus is qualified for industry-scale projects.
